The international environment that surrounds Myanmar has been extremely changed during the past year.
In view of the international situation, the economic development and the stabilization of the domestic affairs that surrounds Myanmar, the role/activities of the Japan Myanmar Association (JMA) should also be changed in the scope of the Myanmar democratization and the economic development.
Based on these factors, JMA shall focus on promoting the following issues:
1: Human Interaction
It had been quite limited on the interaction of people between Myanmar and Japan however, the situation has been remarkably changed and has also become more and more intensive on various channels. Henceforth, JMA focus on the interaction of the public and private sectors which is buried in oblivion and/or the issues which are currently not taken care of.
2: Social Development Support
We had devoted our efforts to Thilawa Development project in the year 2012 and 2013.
As it has been progressed successfully, we acknowledged that our role had been executed to a certain extent. Therefore, our Social Development Support in 2014 is targeted from the hard infrastructure to the soft one including Human Resources Development.
3: Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) Business Matching
SME Business Matching Exhibition in 2013 and 2014 had been resulted successfully, which led the way to handle/proceed the cooperative transactions with JETRO and the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency. We put SME Business Matching Support to our one of the priority issues of 2015.
Although most SME participants are lack of information and human interaction/network, we believe that the large enterprises massive amounts of capital investment would concern to be definite without the SME presence. Accordingly, the execution on the SME business matching and the human resources development could be an urgent and critical agenda for JMA to be acknowledged of.
4: Membership Services
Thankfully, more than 150 companies are listed in JMA membership. The important function of the JMA membership services is how quick and accurate the Myanmar information be delivered and accordingly JMA shall focus on disseminating information more than ever. JMA provides own HP on website to disseminate the information timely which is not only help/support the members but also to contribute for Myanmar-Japan mutual understandings.
